just wondering if anyone else has any thoughts on the possible removal of the wonderful wrought iron fence at South Elem. school. i can't think of any other type fence that would replace this one, and would hope someone would have resources to reinforce/repair to make it last another 50 years. thoughts? solutions? from the South Emem. alumni or any others.

I was just wondering why we need a fence at all, there in the front. I do think it is pretty, but it is probably not the most safe thing in the world. Wasn't it there even before the school was built?

If i hadnt witnessed kids climbing it and getting hurt when school wasn't in session Id say keep it. BUT arent we trying to get new schools? The fence is rusty and sharp and I say take it down and donate it or throw it away. It doesnt protect the kids and thats whats most important in a school yard, right? Progress, lets keep moving forward!! : )

I had heard a great idea. They should remove the fence and raffle pieces off to raise money to go towards the renovation or new schools.
Loved that idea.
